A part-time Naturalist job opening is available within the Macon County Conservation District. Interpreters develop and present educational programming for youth and adults, greet visitors, and provide assistance and information to the public. This position will also develop and manage the summer camp program.

Compensation: $12.00/hour with earned paid time off, dental, and vision insurance.
Terms of Position: Permanent part-time position for 24 hours per week. 40 hours per week during 11 weeks of the summer camp season. Schedule will be 8 hours per day for 3 days of the week (preferably Monday-Wednesday). Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
Duties: Develop and present educational programs for youth and adults. Plan, develop, and facilitate the Earth Adventures and Adventure Club summer camp programs for participants ranging from ages 5-12, and supervise summer camp staff. See Full Job Description.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school, and two years of related experience and/or training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) in a field of study that includes biology, forestry, history, zoology, botany, or environmental education. Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license. First aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
