New Summer Concert Series at Rock Springs Nature Center
Enjoy long, lazy summer evenings with live acoustic music in the great outdoors. The Macon County Conservation District is excited to host a new free, outdoor concert series this summer. The concert series will be held Sunday evenings starting at 7pm and going to about 8pm.
Each show will be held on the west lawn of the Rock Springs Nature Center. The musicians will set up on the deck and you are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Seating will be first come, first served on the lawn. Parking will be in the main lot, with the volunteer and bus parking areas reserved as handicapped spaces.
All shows are free and feature local acts from across Central Illinois. The music style varies with each group, but the majority consist of bluegrass, country, and folk themes.
Cactus Ranch will kick-off the series, on Sunday, June 4. This group is a regular performer during the monthly Music Jams held inside Rock Springs Nature Center. They are also involved in many of our special events, such as Festival of Spring. We are thrilled to have these talented bluegrass pickers start out our summer concert series.
