The Macon County Conservation District’s volunteer Board of Trustees seeks a new dedicated board nominee to serve the Macon County community with a five year term. This opportunity is an excellent way for you to improve the health of our planet for future generations, right here in central Illinois.
Board of Trustees – 2 Positions
Application Deadline: April 17, 2015
Terms of Position:
To fill an unexpired term from July 2015 to June 2016.
Five year term, to serve from July 2015 to June 2020.
Qualifications: The nominee must be a resident of Macon County, and a qualified voter of the conservation district who does not hold any other public office and is not an officer of any political party. The nominee must also exhibit a demonstrated interest in the purposes of conservation districts.
The mission of the Macon County Conservation District is to promote the conservation of natural and cultural resources by acquiring, maintaining and restoring native ecosystems and cultural sites so as to leave them unimpaired for future generations.
To acquire, preserve, and maintain land
- To hold such properties for the education and recreation of the public
- To leave these lands unimpaired for the benefit of future generations
- To promote the conservation of wildlife, the natural environment, and its resources
