Seasonal Site Keeper

This position provides excellent opportunities to work outdoors maintaining the facilities in the Macon County Conservation District’s conservation areas.

The five conservation areas are well attended by the public. They include miles of hiking trails, fishing ponds, picnic shelters, numerous public and educational programs, and Friends Creek Conservation Area contains a campground. All of these features require regular upkeep.

Seasonal Site Keeper for Friends Creek Conservation Area – 1 Position

Application Deadline: Position open until filled

Wage: $15.00/hour

Terms of Position: April through October 2024. Schedule includes Part-time, approximately 20-30 hours per week Monday through Friday. Requires some weekend availability.

Duties: Working outdoors cleaning restrooms, trash removal, litter control, and posting pavilion reservations. Also, grounds maintenance for picnic areas and trails, such as: mowing, trimming, raking, seeding, planting, mulching, and watering. See Full Job Description.

Qualifications: Minimum age 18, high school diploma or GED, a valid Illinois Driver’s License, and good driving record. Must successfully complete a drug screen and criminal background check.

Weekend Naturalist

A Weekend Naturalist job opening is available within the Macon County Conservation District. Naturalists develop and present educational programming for youth and adults, greet visitors, and provide assistance and information to the public.

Application Deadline: Position open until filled

Wage: $15.00/hour

Terms of Position: Permanent part-time position for 2-4 weekend days per month. Schedule will be 8.5 hours per day for any Saturdays worked, and 4.5 hours per day on any Sundays worked.

Earth Adventures Summer Camp Counselors – 4 Positions
